Candice Hunter Corby

Chief Executive Officer

// Candice Hunter Corby is the Chief Executive Officer of Cobra Legal Solutions and the President, Eastern USA – India Business Council of the Women’s India Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Having over 20 years of experience in the C-suite, Candice was the youngest ever Chief Financial Officer of a Scripps Howard newspaper at age 26. Her experience includes CFO, COO and CEO positions at some of the world’s largest law firms and brands including, Baker & McKenzie, Mayer Brown, Godwin Gruber and Niemen Marcus. Under Candice’s leadership, Cobra has received numerous awards including: The Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists (ACEDS) “Service Provider of the Year”, The Oil & Gas Awards “Best International Document Review Provider” and Top 2 World-Wide Back Office and BPO firm for Legal Outsourcing.

Candice was recently recognized by numerous international organizations for her leadership including: “Appointment as Senator USA” representing USA in the Grand Assembly of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) and 2021-2022 Director of the Global Women Leaders Committee of the WBAF; an “Executive Mentor” in the 2020 Fortune – U.S. Department of State Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership; “Excellence & Recognition Award” recipient from the Egyptian Government, Women’s Economic Forum 2020; Inaugural “Voice of Hope 2020 Award” recipient from International School of Story; “Women of the Decade in Law and Leadership 2019 Award” recipient and “Women of Excellence 2019 Award” recipient from the Women’s Economic Forum and was named the “2017 Distinguished Alumnus” of University of Arkansas – Little Rock.

Candice is a frequent speaker on diversity and inclusion and women’s initiatives including: Delivering the 2017 Commencement Address to the University of Arkansas – Little Rock, Podcast interviewee by Relativity Stellar Women in e-Discovery; Panelist, Relativity Fest 2020; and a Featured guest on “Empowering Women in Law” – SHEroVIBES Webinars.

Aside from leading her team at Cobra, Candice is deeply motivated to be a great global citizen, focusing on social responsibility around the world, including being a prior board member of the Andy Roddick Foundation, Austin Opera and Zach Theatre, running marathons with Team Livestrong, providing bottled water to the homeless with I Am Waters Foundation, and supporting women entrepreneurs in India through the Women’s India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) where she serves as President of the Eastern USA – India Business Council.

Candice holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock and is a Certified Public Accountant. Candice resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband Ken Corby.

Kendra Smith, Esq.

Chief Operating Officer

// Kendra’s background and experience bring together a unique blend of legal and technological expertise. She has spearheaded electronic discovery with both law firms and service providers for hundreds of complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts, government investigations, and due diligence review.

Beyond discovery, Kendra counsels clients on information governance and litigation readiness including document retention/destruction policies, data storage, management, and collection, and legal hold processes and protocols. Her expertise, both domestic and abroad, spans the EDRM end-to-end with a constant focus on best practices and consulting at every phase.  She works with legal teams to understand their challenges, needs, and wants and with operations teams to develop creative workflows to meet clients’ needs and provide top-notch work product efficiently and cost effectively. As the first point of contact for law firms and corporate clients during eDiscovery, Kendra provides solutions to efficiently manage electronic document populations from collection to review, production and trial.

Kendra graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame and her Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M School of Law.  Her passions include skiing, sports, travel, and her dogs.

Doug Kaminski

Chief Strategy Officer

// Doug joined Cobra with over 20 years of experience in the legal industry spanning four continents. Mr. Kaminski specializes in helping organizations of all types and sizes understand and implement processes along with technologies to enable complex legal workflows resulting in the generation of maximum quality, predictability, scale, cost reduction, and ROI.

A frequent speaker and published author, Mr. Kaminski brings to the Cobra team deep experience in the legal technology and services industry, having held leadership positions at Relativity, Symantec, Clearwell Systems, Wolters Kluwer, LexisNexis, and Huron Consulting Group (now Consilio).

Doug is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Detroit Bar Association, Technology Advisor to the Seventh Circuit eDiscovery Pilot Program, a Fellow of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance, Co-Chair of ACEDS Chicago chapter, and a Director for the Society for Corporate Governance in Chicago.

Kris Taylor

Chief Innovation Officer

// Kris comes to us with over three decades of industry knowledge from top-tier organizations in the eDiscovery industry, having held senior leadership positions at Discovia, Lighthouse and HaystackID. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Kris will provide strategic insight and partner with all departments across Cobra to enhance innovation and collaboration.  Part of Kris’ responsibilities will be to enhance and manage the sales team, provide industry insights on innovative service lines and serve as a subject matter expert when Cobra assesses potential acquisition targets. Kris will work closely with Doug Kaminski, Chief Strategy Officer, who will be growing the marketing and enterprise sales teams.

THANDAPANI RAMACHANDRAN

Chief Technology Officer

// Thandapani is responsible for building a strong, world-class technical team to provide Ediscovery hosting environment, managing multiple Datacenters, Virtualization & Cloud, Relativity eDiscovery Infrastructure, Secure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, and other supporting Legal Technology tools as a Chief Technology Officer. In addition to his responsibilities, he ensures technical excellence, resilience, and scalability in product solutions and is responsible for technical delivery, architectural decisions, monitoring, and redundancy of systems. He has extensive experience in eDiscovery, including forensics, collection, processing, hosting, and production. Thandapani specializes in the creation and execution of disaster recovery and IT security failure plans. He is also in charge of developing technology policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the success of the organisation. He is accountable for information security certification (ISO27001), and regulatory compliance.

Mahesh Krishan

Managing Director

// Mahesh Krishnan completed his bachelor’s in commerce in 2001, and further pursued his PGDBA (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration) from one of India’s prestigious institutions– Symbiosis (SCDL) in the year, 2004. Mahesh started his career with reputed organizations like Allsec Technologies Pvt. Ltd, IBM Global Services India Pvt. Ltd and R.R. Donnelley Global BPO as Operations Manager. He has steadily progressed to work as Managing Director of India Operations at Cobra Legal Solutions Pvt. Ltd at present after having served under different leadership capacities including a brief stint as Vice President of Global Legal Professional Services.

Aside from being certified in Business Continuity Management (BS25999 standards), he has also worked on Six Sigma quality standards. Mahesh Krishnan has been instrumental in engineering processes and building the service delivery model in Cobra Legal Solutions and has mentored several project managers, and senior leaders under his leadership. Mahesh has been a key driver in many a critical decision-making discussion at Cobra and earns great respect for his prudence and business acumen amidst his peers.

CHRIS SQUILLACE, CPA

// Chris provides financial leadership and strategic insight to ensure the overall health, integrity and growth of the organization. Chris began his career in public accounting almost 10 years ago, working for BDO, a top global accounting firm. Wanting to help businesses more directly, Chris left BDO and opened his own practice. With this, he was able to gain invaluable, diverse experiences working with executives and business owners, helping to solve their accounting and financial challenges.

He has experience building accounting practices, leading day-to-day accounting departments, driving foreign outsourced teams, as well as participating in multiple aspects of M&A transactions. Chris partners with local and foreign leadership teams to drive profitability, productivity and provide key recommendations to initiate change.

Chris recently relocated to Austin from Houston to focus his skills within the Technology and SaaS industry. He enjoys all outdoor activities and you can find him riding his off-road motorcycles throughout the hills of Austin or surfing in remote areas of Central America. He is an avid coffee drinker and loves experiencing different cultures.
