Steven P. Davis

Private Security Company Manager & Licensed Private Investigator

// Steve serves as the Private Security Company Manager and Director of Business Development for Cobra Data Discovery. He is a Licensed Private Investigator who brings over 30 years of experience in the corporate investigations and legal service practice areas to Data Discovery.

Shortly after earning a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Steve served as a team leader for two separate consulting companies conducting hundreds of investigations dealing with securities fraud, lender liability, banking fraud, commercial disputes, and attorney/accountant malpractice. Steve has extensive experience offering best practice solutions within litigated matters that require computer forensic collections and eDiscovery solutions. During his career, he has performed investigations on behalf of governmental agencies, corporations, individuals, and law firms involving civil as well as criminal matters. He is an accredited CLE speaker who has presented at several national conferences and has qualified as a testifying expert in excess of 50 times in Federal, State & Bankruptcy courts.

Nghi Tran

Lab Director

// Nghi serves as the Lab Director for Cobra Legal Solutions. He is a Licensed Private Investigator who brings over 12 years of experience in the corporate investigations and legal service practice areas to Cobra Legal Solutions.

Nghi earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University. He has worked on many E-Discovery and Forensics matters handling the information management and electronic discovery needs for corporations and law firms. During his career, Nghi has worked domestically and internationally on hundreds of matters including antitrust, banking fraud, class action, intellectual property, internal investigations, and other types of litigations. Mr. Tran is a Certified Fraud Examiner and has also obtained his Cellebrite Certified Smartphone Analysis certification.

Gene Zinovchuk

Director of Forensics

// Gene is an investigative professional with 18 years of experience in Digital Forensics, eDiscovery and Litigation Support, with previous computer programming and data recovery experience. He helps lawyers and their clients collect, preserve, analyze, and understand digital evidence so that they can uncover the truth and make intelligent decisions.

Digital forensics has been Gene’ primary focus since 2003. Since that time, he has forensically collected and preserved data from tens of thousands of electronic devices including Windows PCs, Macs, tablets, mobile devices, removable media, optical drives, backup tapes, servers, email, cloud storage, and websites. He has performed services within all of the stages of the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) including Identification, Preservation, Collection, Processing, Review, Analysis, Production, and Presentation of electronic evidence. He helped to draft and signed multiple affidavits and declarations and has testified as the expert witness in court on many occasions.

Gene is Encase certified and a Licensed Private Investigator.
